The Vendor is required to provide the SUD treatment delivery network and should expect to claim Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) for the reimbursement of the cost-of-service delivered as soon as Medi-Cal certification is attained.
- Research suggests that the onset of alcohol, marijuana and other drugs often occurs during adolescence, increasing the risk for developing substance use disorders and/or drug-induced mental illnesses down the line.
- If young people do not buy into the usefulness of the service, even the well-designed program can fail to effectively reach its targeted audience.
- Youth Peer Mentoring within the model for adolescent outpatient treatment and clinical interventions may help to engage, educate and support adolescents to make the necessary behavior changes needed to recover from disabling substance use disorders and mental health conditions.
- Youth mentors may participate in clinical and non-clinical activities such as assisting peers receiving treatment with self-management strategies, developing goals/wellness plans, providing crisis support & conducting one-on-one support sessions, in addition to planning & coordinating prosocial activities.
- Agrees to administer/utilize all surveys, screening instruments, assessment tools and outcomes/satisfaction measurements as directed by county’s alcohol and other drugs services.
