The Vendor is required to provide digital library platform to host, manage, and distribute our e-book, audiobooks, magazines, and read-along collections, including books in multiple languages, to students and schools educators and employees.
- Technical and functional requirements
1. Operational integration and analytics
• Library preservation: the preservation of all or substantially all of the existing library is paramount to protect our current investment.
• Provide a detailed plan addressing continuity of hosting existing titles and copies at and after the time of transition.
• Migration and service: critical data must be migrated from the incumbent platform to ensure service that is essentially uninterrupted, including integrated workflows with existing library management (LMS) and curriculum systems.
• Data analytics: track and generate robust analytics and usage data to inform ongoing development decisions, including at least a dashboard providing granular analytics on circulation, popular titles, user demographics, and ROI analysis.
2. User experience and accessibility
• 24/7 access: platform available for all users, with specified service-level agreement (SLA) for guaranteed uptime.
• Multi-device compatibility: native application and browser-based support for iOS, android, chrome books, and windows.
• WCAG 2.2 compliance: provide a VPAT® or other accessibility conformance report (ACR) or to ensure usability for users with diverse needs.
• Single-sign on (SSO): Integration with district identity providers for frictionless login.
• Google and clever are preferred but other SSOs could be acceptable.
3. Content and curatorial alignment
• Multilingual support: robust hosting for non-English titles and interface localization for ELL students.
• Specify which languages are supported to what extent on the platform, and the number of resources available in foreign languages.
• Inclusive curation: features to highlight contemporary, inclusive resources and categorize BIPOC literature and diverse voices.
