The Vendor is required to provide for a comprehensive, cloud-based Chemical Inventory Management System (CIMS) designed to enhance safety, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize real-time inventory tracking from procurement to disposal.
- Required system components:
• Chemical safety and inventory management
• Hazardous waste tracking and disposal management
• Radioactive isotope tracking and procurement
• A centralized Safety Data Sheet (SDS) hub
- The desired system will be cloud-based and deployed across a broad physical footprint, including 400+ laboratories (research, teaching, and preparation spaces), as well as facilities management locations and custodial closets. These locations span multiple campuses, buildings, and room types.
- The platform must support multi device access (desktop computers, mobile phones, and tablets) and allow users to import and export data in CSV format, ensuring compatibility with tools such as Microsoft Excel and MATLAB.
- The system must support hierarchical location tracking (campus, building, room, storage area), room level inventory assignment, and both laboratory and non-laboratory chemical use environments.
- The system must provide robust role-based access controls, scalable user management, and an intuitive interface appropriate for frequent onboarding in an academic environment.
- Automatic generation of unique barcodes, population of container records using procurement data, and users’ confirmation of receipt and assignment of containers to specific laboratories or storage locations, reducing manual data entry and improving inventory accuracy
