Student Assignment System

The Vendor is required to provide for a new student assignment system and is seeking input from the vendor community.
- Student Assignment System: Software to make, maintain and change student assignments.
- Provide to replace the student assignment system (SAS) and transportation operations system (TOPS) beginning in 2027-28.
- System include:
• System must be able to handle 60,000 active students at a minimum concurrently.
• The system must allow deactivation of student assignments.
• The system should support historical archiving of student data per retention guidelines.
• The system must support integration of student id that is created at time of submission from info snap to ps.
• System must have a seat management capability based on data inputs received for enrollment capacity and assignments.
• System must allow attachments for assessment that may be made by principal if gaps exist in student abilities for their grade placement.
• System must be able to accommodate override to grade level changes (promotions/demotions) on a case-by-case basis
• The system needs to support alternate designated schools under certain circumstances for students enrolling who may have overlaps in eligibilities. (Dual eligibilities) (designated/alternate designated) currently codes on what overrides for these - (a sped and al as an example)
• The system needs to honor program designations in automation of state assignment.
• The system must support multiple eligibilities ensuring that students with disabilities have equal access to additional services
• The system must support waitlist process so that students have the ability to "wait" on seat availabity calculations for the potential option for assignment to that school of choice.
• System conversion must allow current and historical data to be retained. As a large district this data is critical to be kept as part of our planning and reporting.
• System must accommodate submittal of documents at time of enrollment for kindergarten for verification of k and 1st grade age exceptions.
