- The system must be a multi shaft, low speed, high torque shredder powered between 40 and 60 HP to ensure controlled shredding of both lightweight materials such as paper and plastics, as well as tougher items including uniforms, Kevlar, and limited metal objects.
- To support various destruction needs, the shredder must operate with interchangeable sizing screens to produce defined particle sizes and must also function effectively without screens for larger or more rigid materials.
- The screen system must support efficient change out within one hour by two personnel to minimize downtime transitioning from a defined particle size to shredding without a screen.
