The Vendor is required to provide to furnish, deliver and install a commercially available, vendor-supported, on-premise software solution to automate door schedule activation and deactivation based on academic and event data.
- This solution must be fully compatible with our existing infrastructure, including CollegeNet Series25 and Genetec Synergis access control systems.
- Must not be a general-purpose access control system but rather a middleware integration platform purpose-built to bridge scheduling and access control technologies with minimal ongoing IT or facilities staff intervention.
- Requirements
• The product must be commercially available and vendor-supported with references in higher education.
• Must be an on-premise deployment
• Must have Web-based interface supporting modern browsers and mobile devices
• Must support Single Sign-On (SSO) via SAML
• Must Support Multi-Factor Authentication
• Vendor shall support HECVAT Lite questionnaire detailing the product’s compliance to security standards
- Integration Requirements
• Direct, out-of-the-box integration with CollegeNet Series25, including scheduled room and event data import using standard
• Certified integration with Genetec Synergis, with no requirement for third-party plugins or custom API scripting.
• Must support read and write operations to Genetec for schedules and door unlock commands.
• Must map room and building names from CollegeNet Series25 to Genetec access controlled areas without manual duplication.
- Scheduling and Automation
• Automatically apply unlock and relock schedules based on CollegeNet Series25 events, including one-time and recurring reservations.
• Support advanced filtering based on event type, organization, room, or other event fields.
• Include a visual mapping interface to define and manage room/access level relationships.
• Allow override logic to suppress unlocks for specific events or spaces based on campus policies.
• Include support for holidays and exception dates from the campus calendar or Genetec system.
- Operational Features
• Provide logging and audit trails for every unlock command and schedule action.
• Allow manual execution of individual mappings for testing or overrides.
• Provide grouping and status display of door unlock mappings by building or department.
• Must have role-based access control to govern who can configure mappings or execute overrides.
- Administrative and Support Capabilities
• Must be supported by a vendor with higher education clients and proven implementations.
• Include installation, documentation, and training support.
• Product must be updated regularly with backward-compatible patches and version releases.
