The Vendor is required to provide services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as for their children/dependents.
- Goals:
• Assisting survivors of domestic and sexual violence and their families/dependents to achieve safety, stability, healing and to gain the freedom to make their own choices;
• Assisting survivors and their families/dependents to access and retain stable housing;
• Systems change efforts, including working to challenge institutions that contribute to or promote domestic and sexual violence; and ultimately,
• Working toward a future free from domestic and sexual violence.
- A culturally responsive approach is one that is respectful of, and relevant to, the beliefs, practices, culture and linguistic needs of diverse populations and communities whose members identify as having particular cultural or linguistic affiliations.
- Affiliation can be place of birth, ancestry or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability/disability, religion, and/or preferred language or language spoken at home.
- Intersectionality refers to the interconnectedness of social categories, such as race, gender, class, sexuality, and ability–all of which shape an individual’s experiences and opportunities. Intersectionality recognizes that different forms of discrimination and privilege often intersect and create unique challenges for people with multiple identities.
- Crisis Mobile Advocacy: Crisis Mobile Advocates provide confidential, 24-hour services for survivors including ongoing safety planning and help navigating the domestic violence service continuum. Mobile advocacy services also support survivors who are at risk of homelessness due to domestic violence or have barriers to accessing available shelter service.
- Gateway Center Navigators: The Gateway Center is a community collaborative made up of many different agencies and services working together to assist adult and child survivors of domestic and sexual violence. As co-located advocates in a walk-in/drop-in environment, navigators provide support in safety planning, and restraining orders. County also seeks to procure additional services provided through the Gateway Center, including legal services and mental health consultation.
- Shared Housing - Shared Housing provides site-based housing resources via democratically run shared housing properties.
