The Vendor is required to provide electronic health record (EHR) systems based on the needs of multiple state agencies.
- Patient encounter workflow
• Begin from clinician view landing page
• Look up an existing patient
• Review patient history, including documentation from encounters with outside providers brought in via a health information exchange or another interoperability mechanism
• Document new encounter
• Prescribe medication and vaccine
• Schedule a referral with a specialist clinician
• Capture patient consent to share relevant medical record with referred clinician
• Save/update
• Logout
- Medication administration workflow
• Assume clinician is a nurse
• Begin from clinician view landing page
• View order for medication to be administered
• Determine status of ordered medication
• Order received by pharmacy
• Prescription filled by pharmacy
• Prescription delivered and available for administration
• Administer medication and document in a medication administration record without network access
- Administrator workflow
• Begin from the view where someone like a hospital administrator would start
• Select and view an existing report
• Create an ad hoc report to show the number of unique patients seen by clinical staff during a select time period and the total number of visits completed by clinical staff over the same time period.
• If such a report is “out of the box” with your product, show how this person would create a report that is not.
• Send a report over email to someone who does not have access to your tool.
• Logout
- Billing workflow:
• Navigate to the billing dashboard and open the daily submission work queues
• Review clearinghouse acknowledgement / rejection report for front-end rejections
• Research the root cause of a rejected claim by cross-referencing a claim against the patient’s record
• Update a patient’s master file to correct an inaccuracy and resubmit
• Logout.
