Transcription Services

The Vendor is required to provide transcription services for approximately 40,000-56,000 interviews annually, across two (2) department divisions.
 - Transcriptionist requirements
•    Have at least three (3) years of experience in providing law enforcement, legal, or criminal justice transcription.
•    Provide accurate verbatim transcriptions, from all submitted files or recordings that may include one or more of the following:
o    Multiple speakers
o    Audio files that include video
o    IPhone and android recordings
o    Speakers with heavy accents
o    Difficult audio
o    Low volume speakers.
- Transcription requirements
•    Provide a separate verbatim transcription for each audio file submitted by department. 
•    Department will notate the number of speakers and when a file contains difficult audio or multiple speakers.
•    Transcription services must adhere to the following formatting specifications:
o    Microsoft word with single, 8-point line spacing 
o    Standard, letter sized with one (1) inch margins 
o    Bookman old style font, 12-point, with left alignment and no indentations 
o    Single spaces after punctuation 
o    Printed timestamps at a minimum of every change in speaker 
o    Labeled and named using the last name of the first speaker in the audio file and the department reference number, if provided by department (i.e., smith 1234).
•    Transcripts must be proofread against the original audio file by a second transcriptionist prior to submission to the web-based platform.
•    Shall submit transcripts, for which department has requested expedition, by the following timelines:
o    Transcripts for which a one (1) day turnaround time has been requested by department must be submitted by 5:00 p.m., central time, on the business day following the day of the audio file submission. 
o    Transcripts for which a three (3) day turnaround time has been requested by department must be submitted by 5:00 p.m., central time, on the third business day following the day of the audio file submission.
