- On-demand interpretation services are often needed for residents conducting City business. For Council, board, commission, and other meetings, on-site, spoken language or video remote (VRI)
services using Zoom or similar conferencing platforms may be requested. In-person interpretation will be provided almost exclusively in the City of Detroit at sites including parks, recreation
centers or other community civic buildings, and churches. Requests may call for simultaneous or consecutive interpretation.
- Translation services are needed for vital City documents according to the Language Access Ordinance, as noted above. Vital documents may include applications, forms, notices of action or decision, tests, brochures, and signage, In addition, the City’s Community Outreach Ordinance mandates community outreach for a variety of events. Event-related literature may include flyers, postcards, brochures, and presentations.
