The Vendor is required to provide group term life insurance and other flexible benefits for county public schools’ employees, dependents and retirees.
- Proposals are being sought for the following:
• Core Group Term Life with Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Optional Life and Dependent Life
• Retiree Life
• Voluntary Life Insurance
• Voluntary Accidental Death & Dismemberment Insurance
• Blanket Accident Policy for Police Officers
• Short and Long-Term Disability
• Managed Dental Insurance-Low and High Plan
• Indemnity Dental Insurance- Low and High Plan
• Vision Care Insurance
• Hospital Indemnity Insurance
• Group Legal
• Identity Theft Protection
• Long Term Care
- Responsible for the administration of the annual open enrollment application, maintaining and distributing eligibility data, and the self-billing and payment distribution to all vendors for employee deductions and Board contributions for all benefit eligible employees.
- Administration of all cafeteria plan benefits.
• This administration includes, but is not limited to:
• Maintaining employee part-time and retiree records, including individual account information, dependent and beneficiary information.
• Reconciling payroll and eligibility data with the school board and benefit plan providers for all flexible retiree and part-time benefits.
• Comprehensive customer services including toll-free telephone numbers, documented calls, and representatives thoroughly trained on the school board’s benefit plans.
• Maintaining the eligibility of dependents for dental and vision plans only as set forth by district.
• Transmits data on part-time employees and retirees to insurance providers.
• Collection of district-specific enrollment, premium and utilization data on a quarterly and year-end basis.
- Conducting the annual enrollment of all fringe benefits included in the board's cafeteria plan. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
• Open Enrollment for full-time employees including new hires and retirees
• Part-time employee enrollment
• Materials distribution
• Enrollment representatives (50% bi-lingual) and training
• Retiree enrollment processing including data entry, verification, reconciliation and error correction
• Ongoing data exchange among the Board, the Administrator and the benefit plan providers on retiree and part-time enrollment, if applicable
• Supplemental data exchange during Open Enrollment among the parties mentioned in (f) above
• Confirmation notices for retiree and part-time employees
• Establish and maintain eligibility of eligible dependents for medical, dental and vision plans only.
