RFP Description

The vendor required to provide emergency basic life support (BLS) ambulance transport and standby services only upon specific activation by the city.
- Requirement:
•    Provide BLS transport in accordance with county policies, procedures, and treatment protocols. 
•    Operate under the direction of city of personnel, who retain medical authority for patient care and transport decisions at the scene. 
•    Transport patients as directed by city of personnel to appropriate receiving facilities within or outside the city. 
•    Provide patient transfer consistent with county of protocols.
•    Services shall be provided without regard to national origin, ethnicity, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, insurance status, or ability to pay. 
•    All ambulance operations and personnel comply at all times with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including city of policies and protocols.
- Activation and dispatching
•    All dispatching communications will occur through metro cities fire authority or as otherwise directed by the city.
•    The contractor shall be activated only when determined necessary by the city and may be called at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 
•    The ability to mobilize and be EN route within two (2) minutes of notification. 
•    The city acknowledges that total response time will vary based on the responding unit's point of origin.
- Personnel and equipment
•    Each ambulance shall be staffed by two (2) county -accredited emergency medical technicians (EMTS).
•    All ambulances shall be type iii modular or equivalent, equipped with all required BLS supplies, safety gear, and county -approved communications equipment, including 800 MHZ radio interoperability with authority.
•    All ambulances operating under this contract shall display the contractor’s company name and vehicle number on both sides and the rear, clearly visible and consistent with county identification standards.
•    The field supervisor must have direct communication capability with on-duty ambulance personnel and dispatch at all times and is responsible for ensuring proper staffing, deployment, and documentation of each response.
