The Vendor is required to provide to partner with a third-party administrator for the purpose of retiree health insurance billing services.
- Currently provides retiree health insurance and billing services for approximately 300 retirees and their dependents.
- The County offers multiple plans with differing cost-shares to retirees depending on date of retirement, Medicare eligibility, length of service, and bargaining unit.
- Objectives
• Process retiree health insurance billing on behalf of the County benefits team
• Serve as a resource for county retirees with retiree health insurance billing questions and concerns
• Provide the county with monthly and ad hoc financial reporting
- Implementation Support
• Provide a timeline for implementation and communicate what is needed from the County
• Work with the previous retiree health insurance billing vendor to ensure a smooth transition
• Draft Summary Plan Descriptions and Plan Documents, etc.
• Develop communication materials for distribution to all eligible retirees and prospective retirees
- Billing Administration
• Maintain and update retiree demographic and enrollment information and account balances
• Send retiree health insurance monthly invoices, collect payment and apply to accounts
• Generate payment and balance reports
- Customer Service/Call Center
• Toll-free customer service line and/or email contact(s) for retiree questions regarding billing
• Online access to view account balances and payment history, as well as the ability to email a customer service representative with any questions or to make a payment.
