The vendor is required to provide third party administration (TPA) services for its self-insured workers compensation insurance program effective July 1, 2021.

• Employee sustains a work-related injury, the worker’s compensation process is designed to: 1) help the employee understand the process and receive the prompt medical care, 2) minimize the impact on the employee’s ability to work, and 3) help reduce any disruption this injury may have on the employee’s life.
• Employees are expected to have “think safety first and safety awareness” mentality, use the required personal protective equipment (PPE), and watch out for and report all unsafe acts.
• Providing quality medical care to employees injured at work in accordance with state worker’s compensation statutes.
• A competitive excess worker’s compensation insurance policy with a stable insurer is a key component to managing our worker’s compensation risk.

- Medical management
• Workers’ compensation laws, injured employees are treated by a designated occupational medicine facility.
• County maintains at least two designated providers in the areas of occupational medicine, emergency medical treatment, and nurse case management.
- Claims management
• The goal is to have work-related injury claims reported within 24 hours or as soon as possible after the injury.
• Workers’ compensation claims are filed online to the school district’s third-party administrator by the school designated safety administrator.
• The workers’ compensation coordinator works closely with the third-party administrator to monitor and close claims.
