The Vendor is required to provide EMS medical director clinical leadership, medical oversight, and accountability for all patient care activities within the county EMS system.

• Enhance provider education, competency, and readiness
- The medical director will:
• Aid in developing and updating agency-owned clinical protocols and standing orders
• Oversee waivers and scope of practice compliance
• Provide continuing education and training to EMS agency personnel
• Ensure field provider credentialing
• Perform annual personnel competency review
• Oversee new hire orientation program for all field personnel
• Oversee waivers and scope of practice compliance
• Oversee and sign off on critical care paramedic (CCP) competencies
• Lead a continuous quality improvement (CQI) program
• Advise EMS leadership on clinical and operational matters
• Serve as clinical liaison with hospitals and partner agencies
• Provide online and offline medical direction.
