The vendor is required to provide for licenses for an existing app that will support individuals in recovery from substance abuse.
- The app should be available to users with both apple and android smartphones
- The app should include:
• A sobriety calculator that includes live or scheduled messages that celebrate the user’s milestones and encourages them to continue on their sobriety journey
• A moderated chat that allows users to connect with other individuals who are in recovery; moderators should remove hateful language and ensure that the app can’t be used to encourage drug use or provide misinformation about treatment and medications.
• A resource library that includes resources that will help users develop skills that will help them rebuild their lives
o The resource library should also have the option for participating agencies to upload their own resources
• A calendar of events that the participating agencies can update with their own meetings and events
• Connections to county resources that could support individuals in recovery.
- Client consent for data use and sharing is obtained, managed, and audited within the app.
- The vendor must support full data extraction in an open format (e.g., json, csv, xml) for backup, reporting, and system migration purposes.
- Everything should work properly (no broken links) and the app should be tested frequently and updated as needed.
- The app shouldn’t be providing treatment or replacing the relationships that individuals can make at an in-person recovery center.
