Basic Life Support Emergency Ambulance Services

The Vendor is required to provide basic life support (BLS) emergency ambulance services (EMS) for the city.
- Provide EMS/ BLS/medical transport services on a twenty-four (24) hour, seven days a week schedule, for county residents to the nearest appropriate department.
- provide such service without regard to a person's ability to pay for the service.
- The categories of BLS service shall include but are not limited to the following: 
• Cardiac Related problems - chest pain, pressure, tightness, discomfort, sweating, fatigue, pallor.
• Respiratory Distress - Shortness of breath, shallow or rapid breathing, gasping, labored breathing, turning blue.
• Mental Health Crisis
• Unconscious Patient
• Diabetes
• Severe Trauma or Bleeding - Auto accidents, fall injuries, stabbing, and gunshot wounds, industrial accidents, etc.
• Allergic Reactions
• Overdoes 
• Strokes
• Electrocution
• Maternity
• Severe Burns
• Emergency transportation - From a physician's office to hospital or place of treatment or from hospital.
