The vendor is required to provide to install and retrofit 37 enhanced operator barrier (EOB) retrofit kits to its existing arrow global barriers on 40-foot EL dorado national Axess buses.
- Installation
• Install EOB kit, as well as remove and properly dispose of existing material and parts no longer in use due to this retrofit.
• Due to potential dimensional discrepancies found in each bus associated with manufacturing tolerances, stanchion poles, placement of driver’s controls, onboard communication equipment, fareboxes and others, it shall be the contractor’s responsibility to adjust each retrofit kit as necessary with prior approval of department designated quality control inspector.
• Shown how to properly install the retrofit barrier on one bus (2020 EL dorado national Axess).
• Their project manager, supervisor, or lead who will be overseeing the installation attend this training.
• Complete a minimum of 2 buses per day at an average rate of 8 hours spent per bus.
• Provide a minimum of two teams, with each time working on a bus concurrently.
• Responsible for completing the installation of all 37 kits and present each completed bus to department personnel to be approved or rejected.
• Attention will need to be paid to the hinge and pivot areas of the barrier installation to avoid having areas where pinch points can exist during opening and closing the barrier door.
• Provide access to its facility and designated work area for the contractor.
