The vendor is required to provide geophysical data acquisition services using an uncrewed surface vessel.
• We require a DriX h-8, a 24’ uncrewed surface vessel to acquire seismic profiles of the lake sub bottom, for all survey operations.
• The h-8 has been designed and built specifically for hydrographic surveys for charting groups such as NOAA’s office of coast survey and is outfitted with hull mounted Kongsberg em2040 MKII dual-ping dual-swath echosounder for sub bottom seismic data acquisition, making it the ideal tool for this project.
• The h-8 will allow for continuous 24-hour survey operations to maximize efficiency.
• This approach will leverage the uncrewed surface vessel (USV) to provide a reliable, efficient, and cost-effective solution for conducting nearshore hydrographic surveys.
• Equipped with advanced positioning, navigation, and remote sensing systems, the h-8 can collect high-resolution bathymetric and environmental data with minimal human intervention.
• Survey equipment, line spacing, and survey speed are designed to provide the maximum value for future interpretation and geological mapping.
• The survey design and coverage limits, derived from the geospatial information provided, divides the approach into two approaches.
o The first approach is comprised of broadly spaced transects oriented relative to expected geological features. these transects will provide the basis for regional geological interpretation and mapping.
o A subset of areas of interest will be approached with tighter spacing transects with the intent of providing high resolution subsurface mapping.
• Both approaches will be guided by existing bathymetry data in the area collected for office of coast survey missions.
• A map of the survey area is shown below.
