The vendor is required to provide grant writing services.
- Must have access to a team of grant writers with sufficient experience in writing different types of grants and in various areas of interest to the city, including but not limited to arts and culture; brownfields, community and economic development; disaster preparedness & mitigation; employment and training; energy, environment and natural resources; human and social services; housing, information technology and telecommunications; transportation; parks and recreation; police and fire protection, public safety; utilities and water quality.
- Assign a main point of contact for each writing assignment.
- Assign a grant writer for each writing assignment.
- The grant writer will develop full proposals, including all required proposal documents and attachments necessary for a successful grant submittal.
- Attend information meeting with city staff to gain understanding of the concept of a project or program for which funding is sought and assess the city’s competitive position as it relates to a selected grant funding opportunity.
- Review related project budgets (if existing) and develop the grant budget consistent with grantor requirements for leveraging funds and matching sources of various types.
- Maintain contact with grantor after submittal and during their review process in order to supply additional supportive material if needed.
- Grants may require a fair share of contracts to disadvantaged business enterprises.
- Accordingly, affirmative steps must be taken to ensure that disadvantaged businesses are utilized when possible as sources of supplies, equipment, and services.
