The Vendor is required to provide writing, editorial and graphic design services for the conservation publication, journeys, for the next three (3) issues.
- Requirement:
1. Project kickoff and planning
• Conduct an initial planning meeting with zoo staff.
• Review publication objectives, editorial direction, and workflow.
• Review zoo brand standards and style guide.
• Develop a project schedule identifying milestones, review periods, and final delivery dates.
2. Editorial development
• Collaborate with zoo staff to refine story concepts and editorial flow.
• Write publication content based on story outlines provided by the zoo.
• Conduct interviews with zoo staff, conservation partners, researchers, and subject matter experts identified by the zoo.
• Develop headlines, subheads, captions, pull quotes, sidebars, and supporting editorial content.
3. Graphic design and layout
• Design and lay out the publication.
• Maintain consistency with the existing journeys brand and masthead.
• Integrate photography, graphics, and supporting visual elements.
• Design small infographics, maps, and timelines, charts, and data visualizations as appropriate.
• Prepare cover and interior page designs.
4. Editing and proofing
• Perform editorial review and quality control.
• Incorporate zoo review comments.
• Manage multiple rounds of revisions.
• Coordinate professional proofreading services, either through a qualified third-party proofreader or an internal proofing process.
5. Final production
• Prepare final print-ready files.
• Prepare web-optimized pdf files suitable for digital publication platforms such as Issuu.
• Deliver all final approved files to the zoo.
