Energy Audit Services

The vendor is required to provide that energy audit services or entities capable of conducting ASHRAE level ii energy audits at five (5) city-owned facilities that results in recommended energy and water conservation measures for each site.
- A rate-based cost allows for flexibility if, after initial review, it becomes evident certain sites should be included/excluded from the initial 6 sites
- The final energy audit evaluation(s) presented should also, where possible, identify and distinguish the contributing energy demand loads among existing equipment and systems in a manner clearly indicating the proportionate usage among each as a share of the facility as a whole.
- The final energy improvement recommendations should range in scope and cost, from basic retrofits to more involved and innovative measures that would significantly reduce the buildings energy and water consumption.
- Maintain and provide documentation demonstrating that the contractor and all sub-contractors have the required licensing and registration requirements to perform the work outlined
- Provide supervision, architects, engineers, electricians, designers, drafts-people, or other personnel necessary for the preparation of drawings and design specifications required for the project.
- Hold kick-off meetings with staff within facilities management, and other key representatives from the city to initiate the project.
- Work directly with city staff, including the facilities manager, to verify the viability of the proposed energy efficiency improvements.
- Work with detroit edison (DTE), the state energy office, federal agencies, and others to understand what rebates are possible to support implementation of the proposed energy improvements.
- Provide a final report documenting the recommended energy efficiency improvements at each of the five facilities, the cost to install each efficiency improvement, the estimated payback periods, and suggestions on rebates or financing to formally implement the proposed recommendations.
- A walk through at each of the five sites to point out the energy efficiency improvement opportunities.
