The vendor is required to provide professional accounting and tax preparation firm that will file for certain tax credits on behalf of the district including, but not limited to, the following:
• Electric vehicle and infrastructure tax credits
• Fuel tax credit for the district’s propane consumption
- Provide strategies, solutions, and services for the district’s complex tax issues related to its operations within the boundaries of the district.
- Financial and transportation documents including any federal and state tax filings, and any accompanying correspondence to identify potential tax credits or refunds (occasionally referred to as “opportunities”) throughout the duration of the contract.
- The firm will perform these services in a professional manner, complying with all applicable laws, statutes, ordinances, codes, rules, and regulations.
- The firm will advise the district of any opportunities, either for the current tax year or any prior tax year that the district may be eligible for tax credits.
- The firm will act as the district’s representative in these tax matters and be fully responsible for any necessary third-party representation or services.
- To the extent the firm is required to represent the district before the internal revenue service (“IRS”) or state tax authorities, and the selected firm opts to retain a third party to represent the district, the selected firm shall notify the district of said representation, and such representation will be subject to the approval of the district.
