The Vendor is required to provide system integrator and security contractor to furnish, install, program, test, commission, document, train, warranty, and support a complete replacement of the existing access control system (ACS) at county facilities identified in the contract documents.
- Demolition, reuse, and installation
• Remove and replace existing access control panels as required by the design documents while maintaining continuity of county operations to the maximum extent possible.
• Existing enclosures shall be reused unless determined to be unfit or undersized, in which case the contractor shall provide new enclosures, backplanes, and related materials as required.
• All existing cabling shall be tagged and labeled prior to replacement of controllers, and all new cabling shall follow the approved labeling scheme.
• Ethernet cabling, enclosure wiring, jumpers, interconnects, low-voltage power wiring, and all related terminations required for a complete installation shall be furnished and installed by the contractor.
- Infrastructure, wiring, and interface requirements
• Coordinate final system requirements with the available existing cable containment and routing infrastructure.
• No new pathways, junction boxes, penetrations, or supports are required unless otherwise necessary due to field conditions or enclosure replacement.
• All wiring shall be consistently color-coded and tagged.
• The access control system shall interface with the existing fire alarm system to shunt power from lock power supplies at electronically controlled doors where such interface currently exists, utilizing the existing fire alarm tie-in.
• All grounding, bonding, raceway, conduit, separation, and installation practices shall comply with the applicable specifications and code requirements.
- System configuration and integration
• The contractor shall install, terminate, configure, and integrate the new ACS in accordance with the approved design documents, manufacturer requirements, and the engineer’s instructions.
• Network addresses shall be provided by the owner and engineer.
• Device and alarm naming conventions shall be coordinated with the owner and engineer prior to programming and shop drawing completion.
• Responsible for reviewing termination schedules and coordinating all system connections, interfaces, and programming required for a complete operational system.
