The vendor is required to provide shredding services for agency, ensuring full adherence to applicable government standards for the destruction of sensitive and confidential information.
- Provide scheduled and on-demand shredding services for paper documents and, when required, electronic media.
- Services must include the provision of locked containers, secure pickup, and shredding either on-site or off-site, depending on agency needs.
- All shredding services must comply with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including but not limited to:
• NIST special publication 800-88 (for media sanitization)
• The federal records act
• The privacy act of 1974
• HIPAA (if applicable)
- On-site shredding must be performed using cross-cut or micro-cut shredders meeting at least din p-4 or equivalent.
- For off-site shredding, documents must be transported in locked containers via GPS-tracked vehicles and destroyed at a secure, access-controlled facility.
