Investigation Services

The Vendor is required to provide an investigation may require any person, including the teacher’s or teacher leader’s employer or former employer and the teacher or teacher leader or any other employee of the teacher’s or teacher leader’s employer, or former employer, to answer any questions and to produce for the investigator any documents, papers, notes, records and other material and items relevant to the investigation.
- The Investigator must ensure that a parent or guardian is present when interviewing a minor, and inform each person interviewed that he/she may be called to testify under oath before a hearing committee in respect to any statement made.
- The Investigator will:
•    If applicable, review the current materials already obtained from any prior investigation.
•    Review the commissioner’s notice of decision to identify scope of the investigation.
•    Develop investigation plans for review/approval by the director, investigations.
•    Gather relevant documents/evidence.
•    Interview relevant individuals to the allegation(s).
•    Conduct interviews remotely.
•    Take interview notes, record the interviews and prepare interview summaries.
•    Ensure that a parent or guardian is present when interviewing a minor.
•    Inform each person interviewed that he/she may be called to testify under oath before a hearing committee in respect to any statement made.
•    Compile an investigation report, including relevant exhibits, and outline findings relevant to the allegation(s) under investigation.
•    Provide the director, investigations with a draft report of the investigation and amend the report as required.
•    Submit a final report, including exhibits, for the commissioner’s decision.
•    Upon conclusion of the investigation, transfer all investigation material to the agency.
•    Attend a committee hearing as a witness if required.
