The vendor is required to provide certain legal services relating to matters, including, but not limited to, the defined benefit plan matters for the agency pension plan.
- Quarterly updates regarding the pension plan’s compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, legislation, regulations, and case law; the quarterly updates must be provided by the legal counsel to the agency administrator by the 30th of March, June, September, and December.
- Legal services, including, but not limited to, subsequent correspondence with the IRS after any filings and any other additional legal services for pension plan issues as requested and directed by the agency administrator.
- Legal consulting and assistance on labor and related issues for the agency including those relating to pension plan contract resolution and interpretation, agency pension plan resolution and interpretation, and legal consultations and advice related to pension matters, including but not limited to the defined benefit plan matters for the agency pension plan; providing updates to agency management on recent case law and other precedents involving labor law; reviewing collective bargaining proposals, assisting the agency in case preparation and presentation of arbitration matters, including the selection of arbitrators and briefing on subject matter issues; meeting with representatives of the appropriate parties, including, but not limited to, collective bargaining negotiations.
- Review, analysis, investigation and research necessary to carry out the Services.
- Preparing, writing and providing to agency designee all documents and instruments, in electronic, magnetic, paper and any other form, which are necessary or appropriate to carry out said services.
- Hiring and consulting with expert witnesses, consultants, mediators and investigators as may be reasonably and necessarily required and as approved by the agency administrator and/or their designee.
- Providing all necessary paralegal and clerical support.
