The vendor is required to provide legal advice and represent the county as needed, in legal matters which include, but are not limited to: employment contract review; employee leaves of absence, unemployment benefits, retirement benefits, legal compliance related to: acts,; wrongful termination, workplace violence, hostile work environment, retaliation, discrimination, and harassment complaints; reductions in workforce; wage, hour and overtime standards; disciplinary actions; grievance processing and responses; collective bargaining and labor contract application and interpretation; employment-related meetings, hearings, litigation and binding arbitrations; conduct review and analysis in hiring and termination practices, workplace policies and procedures; workers compensation and municipal law.
- List the staff anticipated to provide the labor and employment law services for the county, including disciplines and degrees, as appropriate.
- Must provide information on their record retention capabilities and practices and record retention policies.
- Advanced skill level and demonstrated experience in addressing complex and multi-faceted public sector employment and labor relations matters, principles of the collective bargaining process and dispute resolution in the public and/or private sector, establishing cooperative labor-management relationships, working cooperatively with elected officials and staff, conducting a variety of workplace investigations, and written and oral communication including the policy development and contract language.
