The Vendor is required to provide for legal services, including, but not limited to:
• Review, analysis, interpretation, and opinions regarding federal, state, and local laws, regulations, rules, policies, contracts, procurements, ordinances, charter and other related legal documents applying to the city.
• Legal counsel/advice regarding human resource matters such as FMLA, erisa, workers’ compensation; and labor laws such as EEO/non-discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, civil rights protections, and other applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
• Represent the city in related litigation and legal affairs
• Advocacy and representation in grievance and/or complaint proceedings or hearings
• Review and comment on procurement and contract documents, including facility leases
• Advice on matters related to the open records act and public information act.
• Coordinates open records requests with the city secretary
• Advice on all matters related to statutes and regulations pertaining to the city
• Attendance to the city meetings as requested or required
• Serves as municipal court prosecutor
• Provide legal advice on land use, annexations, and zoning
• Other related legal matters may be determined by the city
• Assists with the creation, review, implementation, and interpretation of development agreements
• Assists the city with interlocal agreements and memorandums of understanding
• Interaction with federal, state, county and independent school district legal officials
• Renders opinions on financial and taxation related issues
• Maintains an updated and current legal project tracking system to be shared with the city.
