The vendor required to provide grocery market assessment study services for include:
- Data collection
• Preparation of collect demographic, economic, mobility, geospatial, and retail data relevant to city and the surrounding region.
• The city’s comprehensive plan, zoning, infrastructure plans, economic development strategies, and other relevant documents.
- Grocery operator inventory
• Review strengths and weaknesses of each in terms of opening a new store in city.
• Determine preferred grocery operator(s).
• Identify barriers to these companies and recommend steps to address them.
- Demand and leakage and feasibility modelling
• Conduct demand and expenditure analysis and calculate supportable square footage for various grocery formats for two to five priority primary sites.
- Community engagement (optional)
• Provide and analyze survey information and hold and summarize stakeholder interviews.
- Presentation of study results to city council
• Results to be presented at a city council work session.
