The vendor is required to provide coordination and facilitation of durable medical equipment (DME) needs throughout agency.
- DME support, including, but not limited to, inpatient, ambulatory, emergency medicine, and surgical patient services.
- Key for this engagement with agency for DME services, is strong communication, diligence, and thoroughness throughout the entirety of the process:
• Clear workflow outline of intake and processing of new patient orders, including initial engagement with patient and confirmation of the completion of the order with the agency
• Ability to offer multiple product options to our providers at the lowest cost possible
• Capability to integrate into epic
• Ability to accept electronic orders from agency
• Implement electronic patient consent process and inventory control to eliminate current manual process
• Standardize current DME product offerings
• Superior level of service to highly demanded and utilized DME items, and responsive home delivery
• Ability to deliver home going DME items quickly, before patient is discharged
• Supplementary services available for patient/customer support
• Consistent and timely notification to agency regarding the fulfillment and/or issues with every DME order
• Engaged and active DME coordinator that builds strong rapport and trust with agency staff
• DME items identified as high availability or high utilization must be provided according to the following criteria.
• DME provider(s) must provide related supplies and services, as ordered / referred by the DME coordinator, under agreed upon service level requirements.
• If DME product is not available, it is the responsibility of the DME vendor to obtain and coordinate the product through another vendor including specialty items.
• Respond to DME coordinator with order acknowledgement within 15 minutes of receipt of order and referral
• Ensure adequate equipment training is provided to patient as needed.
• Provide service specific training to agency medical personnel, when applicable
- Preference for electronic management inventory system
• Provide inventory shrinkage management by implementing software solutions.
DME inventory fulfillment management system must provide real-time inventory with barcode scanning capability and patient tablet to eliminate a paperless solution for consent and improve revenue loss.
• Provide projected staffing plan
• Staffing commitment for CPAP and BIPAP operations, potential to expand growth in the future.
