- The county estimates that the future online medical direction system considered in this request will be approximately 10,000-15,000 calls a year.
- Provide online medical direction by designated emergency physicians, capable of giving verbal direction and consultation to the region’s EMS providers.
- Better understand the community’s ability to enhance the accessibility and capabilities of highly qualified physicians for those EMS professionals operating in the field.
- Inform multiple strategic initiatives underway, to ensure high quality, evidence based, patient-centered medical care is available to all county residents and visitors.
- Prehospital providers should consult with board certified emergency medical services (EMS) physicians, available to provide 24/7 telecommunication consultation to an estimated 10,000- 15,000 calls annually.
