The Vendor is required to provide on-call plan review and inspection services to the City.
- On-call services are desired in the following categories:
• Building Plan Review Services
• Fire Plan Review Services
• Building and/or Fire Inspection Services
- Building plan review services
• Reviewing permit applications and construction documents for compliance with applicable state and local codes.
• Ensuring designs meet structural, life safety, energy efficiency, and accessibility requirements.
• Preparing clear and comprehensive written review comments with reference to applicable codes and communicating effectively with design professionals.
• Reviewing re-submittals and verifying corrections.
• Participating in plan check meetings, if requested.
• Maintaining timely turnaround based on mutually agreed service level expectations.
• Performing plan reviews in digital format (blue beam).
• Providing technical support to city staff and building officials as needed.
- Fire plan review services
• Reviewing permit applications and construction documents for compliance with applicable state and local codes.
• Evaluating fire alarm systems, fire sprinklers, standpipe systems, smoke control, and other fire protection systems.
• Reviewing access for fire apparatus, fire hydrant placement, and water supply requirements.
• Preparing clear and comprehensive written review comments with reference to applicable codes and communicating effectively with design professionals.
• Reviewing re-submittals and verifying corrections.
• Participating in plan check meetings, if requested.
• Maintaining timely turnaround based on mutually agreed service level expectations.
• Performing plan reviews in digital format (blue beam).
• Supporting the city’s fire prevention division in enforcing fire and life safety code provisions.
- Building and/or fire inspection services
• Performing on-site inspections for all phases of construction (foundation, framing, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and final).
• Conducting special inspections as needed for complex or high-risk projects.
• Inspecting fire systems installations such as sprinklers, alarms, and suppression systems.
• Verifying compliance with accessibility, energy, and green building requirements.
• Documenting findings using the city’s inspection tracking system.
• Issuing correction notices, stop work orders, or final approvals, as authorized.
• Communicating effectively with contractors, engineers, and city staff.
• Providing daily reports, photographic documentation, and inspection logs.
• Being available on an on-call or scheduled basis depending on workload needs.
