The vendor is required to provide to access the purchase of carbon credits including carbon credits that are green-e climate certified.
- Include for services:
• Provide offsets through programs aligning with the airport carbon accreditation program including:
o Verified carbon standard
o Gold standard
o Climate action reserve
o American carbon registry
• Not provide quotes or offsets to the city within the following categories:
o Nuclear energy
o Fuel switching
o Industrial gases HFC and N2O
o Coal mine methane
• Provide evidence from the offset supplier that the project is of high quality
• Provide offset issued within five years prior to the occurrence of the city emissions to be compensated.
• Provide relevant documentation from the offset supplier, such as host country approval letters, in which the host country assures the offsets generated by a project are only counted once, proof of offset credit retirement (including certificate numbers), etc.
• Provide the city, via links to the appropriate offset registry, all associated project design, development, validation, third-party verification and issuance documentation for carbon credits the city may consider for purchase.
• Provide links to the public retirement report for those credits within the associated offset registry to the contract manager or designee within 10 business day or as mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the contract manager or designee.
• Green-e certified carbon credits, or proven equivalent, are intended to meet any city project needs for leadership in energy and environmental design (LEED) credit related to LEED v4 O+M EAC renewable energy and carbon offsets credit requirements.
• The contractor shall coordinate with city to identify the required vintage and newer carbon credits and green-e climate certified carbon credits, or proven equivalent for city's purchase sufficient to offset the city’s emissions of carbon dioxide equivalents per each calendar year.
