RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide comprehensive healthcare service requirements:
1. Primary care and preventive health services
• Must provide routine medical care, urgent care, and preventive health services such as vaccinations, screenings, and wellness checks.
• On-site staffing must include physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses to ensure comprehensive care.
• Must support students in managing chronic conditions and provide education on maintaining long-term health.
2. Mental health and crisis intervention services
• Must provide individual and group therapy, short-term counseling, and crisis intervention services.
• Must employ licensed counselors, and psychiatric professionals to address a range of student mental health needs.
• Must offer 24/7 crisis support either through on-site staff, telehealth services, or partnerships with external crisis providers.
• Must have a suicide prevention and risk assessment protocol in place, integrated with campus safety and emergency response teams.
3. Psychiatric services and medication management
• Must provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and medication management by a licensed psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner (PMHNP).
• Services must be integrated with counseling and primary care to ensure a coordinated treatment approach.
• Must have a clear process for timely follow-ups and medication adjustments to support student continuity of care.
4. Clinical case management
• Must offer case management services for students with complex health and behavioral needs, including coordination with disability services, academic accommodations, and external specialists.
• Must provide support for students transitioning from inpatient care or hospitalization back to campus life.
5. Pharmacy services
• Must provide on-site or contracted pharmacy services to dispense commonly prescribed medications and over-the-counter treatments.
• Must ensure insurance coordination and prescription fulfillment, including medication delivery options if needed.
• Must maintain strict medication safety protocols to prevent misuse and ensure secure storage of controlled substances.
• Must offer medication counseling and education to ensure students understand prescriptions, side effects, and adherence guidelines.
6. Health promotion & preventive education
• Must provide health education programming, workshops, and outreach events to promote physical and mental well-being.
• Must offer peer education and wellness coaching to encourage student engagement in health initiatives.
- Additional staffing
• The protection of current staff positions, their roles, and responsibilities, and for additional staff, as appropriate, to be hired to allow for shorter wait times, increased accessibility, appropriate ratio, and more robust services
• Market rate salaries and outpace inflation
• Protection of staff members’ compensation, benefits, accrued vacation and sick time, and retirement plans
• A clinical case manager, care coordinator, or patient navigator
• Competitive pay and benefit packages for staff and providers
• Health and wellness outreach services, including supporting and hosting outreach and wellness initiatives and promoting wellness services to students, parents, and families
• Ongoing professional development opportunities for staff
• Staff members’ access to banner and their state university emails
• Mental health days for staff as part of the benefits package
• Access to mental health services on-site when acute mental health crises arise
• Adequate training for electronic health record (EHR) system and the proper transfer of health records into the new EHR system
• AAAHC accreditation to be maintained or for a smooth transition to JCAHO accreditation
• spaces on campus for students to seek support and relax, such as a ZEN space
• a liaison to ensure a seamless connection to university
• the integration of wellness services and staff within the larger public health initiatives, such as the strategic plan related to mental health and the policies and practices as associated with RamsSAFE.
