- Residential energy efficiency services home energy savings (HES): provides financial incentives in the form of rebates or rebates and loans for the installation of the following
• Solar screens or film
• Attic insulation,
• Air infiltration reduction
• Duct sealing, repair, or replacement
• High efficiency air conditioner
• Smart thermostats
• Heat pump water heaters
- Residential appliance efficiency program (AEP): provides energy efficiency rebates for the installation of equipment in residential homes; rebates are issued for a variety of equipment:
• High efficiency air conditioning equipment
• Variable speed pool pumps
• Heat pump water heaters
• smart thermostats
• Window air conditioners
• Solar screens
- Strategic partnership between utilities and retailers:
• Products marked with the agency logo and green shelf tag are eligible for hassle-free discounts
benefits include energy savings, utility bill savings, better indoor air quality and a safer, healthier, more comfortable home
• The incentivized products can vary per contact year but may include but not limited to energy star appliances such as air purifiers, window ac units, freezers, dryers, and bath vents.
• The program also incentivizes other energy efficient products such as electric lawn equipment, advanced power strips, smart thermostats, door seal, door sweep, pleated air filters, and wi-fi smart plugs.
- Agency all-stars (school-based education):
• Agency all-stars are a free program designed to educate students about energy efficiency and complement the sixth-grade curriculum that aligns with the state essential knowledge and skills (TEKS) standards.
• Educate students about energy efficiency, conservation, and safety through experiential learning to encourage behavioral change and life-long energy conservation habits
• A vendor to establish relationships with local schools and to recruit sixth-grade teachers.
provides approximately five days of educational material that includes a workbook, guidelines, and classroom activities.
• students are provided a student kit with educational materials and energy efficient products such as smart strips and LEDs to share with their family.
- Residential weatherization assistance program: energy-efficient services are delivered through direct contracts with registered participating contractors and include:
• Attic insulation
• Solar screens
• Duct repair, sealing, or replacement
• High efficiency lighting
• Air infiltration reduction
• Reflective roof coating for mobile homes
• Carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors
• Inspecting and cleaning air conditioning equipment
• Smart thermostats
- Strategic support and consulting:
• Developing new strategies, tools, and programs to meet evolving policy requirements and needs related to energy efficiency and demand response to bolster agency ability to comply with changing efficiency policies and objectives.
• The contractor shall assist agency in developing new strategies and tools to meet evolving policy requirements related to energy efficiency and demand response.
• Provide expertise to help the utility comply with changing energy efficiency and demand response policies and objectives
• Provide insights on industry trends and best practices in energy efficiency and demand response measurement and verification.
• The contractor shall develop or recommend tools for improved data management and analysis.
• The verification and analysis results, provide recommendations for improving the effectiveness of agency energy efficiency and demand response programs
• The contractor shall ensure that the reporting and evaluation methods align with any regulatory or policy requirements.
• The contractor shall prepare documentation with agency staff assistance that may be required for compliance purposes.
• The contractor shall support development and reporting of KPIS that support energy equity and equitable program design.
