RFP Description

The Vendor is required to provide a comprehensive approach that promotes educator development, enhances student language acquisition, and advances program quality through ongoing, collaborative professional learning and support.
- Provide to implement a 50/50 dual language program to promote bilingualism and biliteracy.
- This support should include professional development, instructional coaching, classroom walkthroughs, and expert consultation, all aligned with current best practices in dual language education—such as cross-linguistic transfer and translanguaging strategies.
- Services include:
• Organization and execution of professional development, training sessions, and coaching cycles.
• Effective pedagogical practices specific to dual language settings.
• Application of guiding principles and tenets for dual language education.
• Oral and written feedback to teachers following classroom walkthroughs and coaching cycles.
• Monthly collaboration meetings with the bilingual department and school-based personnel.
• Classroom environment, organization, and culturally responsive décor.
• Vocabulary development and student engagement strategies across two languages.
• Cross-linguistic connections and the integration of language objectives, with clearly defined criteria for success, across all content areas.
• Questioning and discussion techniques in dual language classrooms.
• Assessing both academic achievement and linguistic progress in dual language settings.
• Comprehensive program evaluation and dual language program assessment.
• Conferencing and specific, descriptive feedback to teachers with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Building translanguaging spaces in dual language classrooms
• Biliteracy instructional strategies
• Sociocultural competence and identity affirmation
