The vendor is required to provide expanding its fiberoptic network in the Kapolei and Ewa areas and installing new closed-circuit television (cctv) traffic cameras along the h-2 freeway and at the Waiawa interchange.
- A new dynamic message sign (DMS) will also be installed along the h-2 freeway.
- The work shall include, but not be limited to preparing a PS&E package for the following:
• Provide a fiberoptic communication path between the Makakilo interchange and Kunia interchange using a combination of new conduits/fiber and existing conduits/fiber being installed by other projects along Farrington highway.
• Install two (2) new cctv traffic cameras and one (1) new DMS along the h-2 freeway between the Waipio interchange and Waiawa interchange.
• Install one (1) new cctv traffic camera at the Waiawa interchange.
- The consultant shall prepare all construction plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) and all required environmental documents and permits.
- Additional design considerations include, but are not limited to:
• Field investigations.
• Obtaining and reviewing “as-built” plans and records on file with the highways division, department of transportation, and “as-built” plans with other agencies and utility companies.
• Coordination with utility companies and relocation and adjustment of their utilities should it become necessary.
• Determination of locations, spaces, and intermediate access points for fiberoptic routes.
• these may be installed underground, on existing structures, or other methods as field conditions dictate.
• Network architecture and design (e.g., network topology, traffic/capacity patterns, end-to-end IP network modeling and design, etc.)
• This project is not anticipated to involve any right-of-way taking.
• Provide services for a pre-bid meeting and a pre-construction meeting.
• provide post-design services during construction.
• Provide construction phasing and traffic management plans in conformance with latest FHWA and HDOT standards and guidelines, which include the MUTCD.
• Process all permits and environmental clearances which includes but are not limited to: BMPs, section 7, NPDES, noise variance and others necessary to complete the project.
