RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide from qualified vendors for full-range investigative services for preemployment public safety background investigations and occasional employee investigations as required for the city.
- The successful proposer may need to employ a combination of interviews, document review, surveillance, and electronic data collection on any specific investigation:
• Family background- a ten+ year address history and confirmation of anyone who has shared an address with the applicant which would include associates and relatives.
• Residency- within last ten years to be verified through such documentation as leases or sale documents, car registrations, utility bills, voting records, etc. specific scrutiny to be given to the one year prior to the date of the exam.
• Home visit- site visit to home to verify residence and ascertain character of individual and verify family composition.
• Neighborhood canvas- site visit to residence to verify residence and interview neighbors concerning the character of the applicant.
• Criminal history- investigation of any criminal history including the retrieval of documents and the interviewing of necessary law enforcement professionals.
• Education history- conduct education verification to include copies of transcripts.
• Driving history- certified copy of driving record through state RMV.
• Credit check- documents provided by candidates to be verified and researched.
• Income tax history- verify applicant information.
• Business involvement- verify compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements of business’s jurisdiction, as applicable
• Property ownership- national property ownership check and verification.
• License background for firearms, EMT, etc.- verify applicant information with signed release.
• Motor vehicle data-in-house search or in person search at RMV.
• Military record- verify dd-214 with signed release. phone conversation with commanding officers.
• Work experience- field visit to current/previous employers to conduct interview.
• Civil service employment- verification of applicant data with signed release and in person interview with supervisor.
• Verification of references
• National newspaper search- conducted on applicant and associates and relatives.
• Social networking check- search Facebook, Instagram, twitter, etc.
