The Vendor is required to provide group long-term disability insurance program for its full-time medical school students and long-term disability insurance coverage.
- Collect underwriting data, specifications, and other data required by insurers for policy placement, follow-up with university for timely response, assemble and prepare all such underwriting data in a form acceptable for submission to the insurance market(s).
- Upon request of university, copies of underwriting submissions shall be provided within ten days of the request.
- Verify the adequacy and accuracy of all binder, policies, policy endorsements, invoices and other insurance-related documents.
- Advocate on behalf of the university in claim reporting and resolution of disputed claims.
- Coordinate and conduct claim reviews with insurers as needed.
- Provide loss runs within one (1) week of request.
- Provide university with contact information for those responsible for claim handling, for both the brokerage firm and insurance company.
- Place order for coverage, including issuing binders, and invoices if necessary.
- Negotiate coverages and policy enhancements in the best interests of the university.
- At each renewal, recommend the best programs of insurance available by preparing/presenting a comparison of insurer proposals (coverage, limits, exclusions, pricing, etc.)
