The vendor is required to provide to, dewatering, storing, and transporting and disposing all removed media in accordance with state.
- Remove approximately 600 cubic feet of existing spent media from the two (2) existing treatment vessels at the existing water treatment facility.
- Dewater all removed spent media, place all spent media in super sacks or other suitable intermediate bulk containers (IBC’S) and transport and dispose of all the removed media in accordance with department rules and regulations and all other applicable state and federal rules and regulations.
- Perform a contamination survey of the immediate area involved in the spent media removal, at the completion of the operation.
- Install a minimum of 600 cubic feet of new company radium removal media, into the two (2) existing treatment vessels.
- Disinfection of all vessels containing the new radium removal media upon installation
- Test system including sampling and completing department certified laboratory analysis for coliform bacteria and place facilities back into permanent service.
- Facilities shall not be placed back into service until receipt of final coliform bacteria analysis is provided indicating no bacteria is present.
- References included in proposal section shall demonstrate experience in handling similar volumes of radioactive materials.
- Assume fully responsibility for protection and safekeeping of products stored on and off premises, move stored products that interfere with the operations of the owner of other contractors, obtain and pay for all additional storage or work areas required for his operations, and not unreasonably encumber the site with materials and equipment.
