The Vendor is required to provide pool management services
- Managing Somerset Pool before, during, and after the pool season, which begins the weekend before Memorial Day weekend, and remains open through the final weekend of September annually.
- Management of a small baby pool is also required.
- The pool will operate on the following schedule: Weekend before memorial day weekend until the last weekend of September.
- Pool Hours:
• When School Is In Session
oMonday-Thursday: 1:00pm-8:00pm
oFriday: 1:00pm-9:00pm
oSaturday: 10:00am-9:00pm
oSunday: 10:00am-8:00pm
• When School Is Not In Session and Holidays
oMonday-Sunday: 10:00am-9:00pm
oMemorial Day: 10:00am-9:00pm
oIndependence Day: 10:00am-6:00pm
oLabor Day: 10:00am-9:00pm
oClosing Day: 10:00am-7:00pm with the Annual Dog Swim event taking place 6:00pm-7:00pm
- In addition, there will be one night per month that the pool will remain open until 10:00pm for a late night special event
- From Memorial Day to Labor Day, there are early morning swims Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:00-8:30 am - The company shall be responsible for the staffing of lifeguards during pool season (weekend before Memorial Day weekend through the last weekend of September); additionally, company shall provide a full-time manager.
- All company personnel who will work at the town pool, including all lifeguards, shall be employed solely by the company; no lifeguards shall be engaged by the company as an independent contractor.
- Company agrees to follow all federal, state, and local guidelines for employment of their personnel.
- Personnel employed by the company shall have Red Cross lifeguard training or equivalent (certified lifeguards and certified pool manager's license).
- Provided chemical safety training by the company prior to the beginning of the pool season.
- Provide its personnel with pre-opening orientation training, onsite training, and post-memorial day guard training review; this includes training on the software the town deploys to log pool visitors, including guests.
- Provide its personnel training in the area of blood borne pathogen, and provide a blood borne pathogen exposure control kit prior to the opening of the pool.
- Certified pool operators (CPO) will train all management personnel on independent mechanical operation of town facilities.
- Company’s full-time management staff will supervise personnel; company supervisors will inspect town facilities no less than two (2) times per week to check personnel performance.
- Company shall provide a rate structure for all personnel: managers, lifeguards, and any other staff.
- Pool staff is responsible for moving bins to the curb by close of business the day prior to trash pick-up (trash pickup, recycle, and compost is currently every Tuesday; staff is also responsible for returning bins to the pool site as soon as they are empty).
- Somerset Dolphins Swim Team.
• Include swim team coaches on payroll at a rate determined by the swim team.
• Validate that swim team coaches have lifeguard and CPR certifications.
• Provide lifeguards for all swim team events, practices, and meets as appropriate, including the registration party and banquet.
• Remove ladders and adjust diving boards as needed for swim meets.
• Assist with putting up backstroke flags for meets.
- Provide lifeguards for special events, after hour parties, group events, and extra hours of operation at the request of the Town, and subject to the following:
• Provide the Town with a specified amount to pay the lifeguards for their services at the event;
• Provide all services for after-hours pool parties to include lifeguards and scheduling.
• Provide a report of after-hours pool party activities to the Town at the end of the pool season.
