RFP Description

The vendor is required to provide from qualified firms to provide professional design services for a future capital project involving the replacement the existing EDPM roofing system.
- Design services shall include:
• Attend design kick-off meeting onsite to discuss desired outcome of the project with the owner, construction manager (if applicable), and owner’s maintenance staff.
• Evaluation and design for demolition and replacement of an estimated 106,000 sf of EPDM roofing system.
• Assess removal of all abandoned equipment stands, curbs and pitch pockets.
• Roof ladder installation as required to meet osha ladder regulations
• Assess condition of roof drains and recommend replacement.
• Design for sheet metal coping, counter-flashing, equipment curb flashing, vent stacks, parapet walls, roof edge, conductor heads, gutters, downspouts, scuppers, and associated miscellaneous roofing items where applicable.
• Core samples and hazardous material testing will be provided and scheduled by the owner.
• THE selected design team shall coordinate the recommended locations of the core samples.
• Hazardous materials report to be provided by owner’s LEP.
• Existing cad and pdf drawings will be provided for general outline of the building to the successful design firm.
• Field examination of the existing building roofing system.
• Provide material recommendations based on experience, quality, and price.
• Designer shall include any and all survey work required for completion of project.
• Quality control during design.
• Compliance with all federal, state, and applicable AHJ codes.
• Compliance to state building and energy codes.
• Design review will be conducted at 100% design development documents, 50% construction documents, and 95% construction documents. dates for design review meetings to be coordinated with the design and owner’s team.
• Construction cost opinions provided by the design professional team during design (at 100% design development documents, 50% construction documents, and 95% construction documents) with a final estimate for construction included with bid documents
• Provide bid alternates as determined during the course of design and bid package development.
- Contract Period/Term: 3 years
