The vendor is required to provide quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) testing and consultation for materials placed by contractors and internal crews in county.

1. Field inspections:
• The consultant shall provide a qualified field inspector for all projects county requests consultation on.
• Inspections may include testing, design, surveying, and other required services as determined by the county for the specific project.
• Field inspections will be required for all projects for which QA/QC services are sought.
2. Field testing:
• The consultant shall provide QA/QC testing services in accordance with the department standards for materials such as asphalt, concrete, and soil.
• All tests must be performed to ensure the material placement meets county's specifications.
3. Laboratory testing:
• Samples will be collected by field technicians during inspections and designated prior to technician arrival.
• Samples will be transported to an AASHTO r-18 accredited laboratory for a variety of applicable tests.
• The laboratory testing will help verify that the materials used meet the required specifications.
4. Consultation:
• County may consult with the awarded consultant for professional advice related to:
o Design of materials or processes
o Development of specifications
o Estimations and cost assessments for any contracted work associated with county projects
• The consultant will provide expert advice on all aspects of the project as required by county staff.
