The vendor is required to provide strategy document (slide deck, brochure, poster) that is graphic-rich, technologically adaptable, and easy to comprehend that describes and illustrates the vision and strategy.
- Overall graphic depicting existing and proposed parks, trails, pathways and publicly accessible open space.
- The consultant shall, without limitation, perform at least the following tasks during the preparation of the plan:
• The consultant team should plan for engagement with various age groups, using a mix of approaches to elicit stakeholder input.
• The township manager, planner and engineer will provide on-going leadership and assistance.
• A planning committee will be established with up to 10 community representatives.
• The consultant will be expected to provide leadership at the committee meetings and provide deliverables for the strategy that the committee could recommend to the planning commission and township board to endorse.
• Township staff can assist with existing conditions in terms of township parks, trails and pathways, as well as GIS mapping.
• Meet with department staff to review the existing facilities and current utilization patterns and to discuss future trails, building and recreational land uses.
• Facilitate a public community meeting to include interested citizens, neighborhood members, cycling organizations, disability advocates, park interest groups, veterans, and anyone else who would like to attend.
• Develop a preliminary plan (using microsoft© word or agreed upon software that is acceptable to the township), and update the map to show recommended changes, for review and comment.
• The plan will include each entire park and all current and future planned trails including, but not limited to, the entrance areas, parking area, pedestrian entrances and walking routes, service areas, the building and restroom, play areas, athletic fields, court areas, river access areas, natural areas, entrances from neighborhoods and recommended forestry work with parks and trails.
• Meet with department staff to review the preliminary plan and to discuss possible ideas and solutions.
• Facilitate a second public meeting to present the preliminary plan to those attending.
• Provide a presentation and an open forum time to receive and document public comments.
• Develop a color rendered mounted map at 24” x 36” and at 8-½” x 11” of trail systems and parks (current and proposed).
• Provide 8-½” x 11” pdf files in both black and white and color rendered.
• Provide a 24” x 36” black and white plot of the drawing and illustrative vision of parks and trails plan.
• Provide digital copies of the plan, to include the map (8-1/2” x 11”) and other drawings, and an electronic file of the plan, the map and other drawings.
