The Vendor is required to provide a cloud-based platform fully integrated into its learning management system to host virtual class sessions in synchronous online or hybrid courses, create instructional videos, tutorials, and reviews, and have students create videos to share with their instructors and classmates.
- Video needs to include screen capture, auto-graded and imported video assessments, and video sharing from external platforms.
- Ability to engage learners through video and receive detailed data analytics on learner engagement and participation in both videos and virtual class sessions to further enhance student success.
- Instructors need the ability to share videos with one another and develop interactive video paths for students that allow students to curate their own educational journey through hotspots.
- Ability to advertise services and market or host events or trainings.
- All video assets at the college must meet ADA/WCAG/508 accessibility standards, producing unlimited automatic closed captioning and transcripts and allowing for individual editing of captions for accuracy.
- In the case that captions cannot be automated, the college needs the option to have manual captioning provided with no additional cost.
- The virtual classroom environment needs to allow for a minimum of 50 simultaneous participant cameras turned on for attendance requirements (by program).
- Ability to upload existing videos or YouTube videos into a media gallery (for instance, any video assets created elsewhere can be uploaded to the platform at no additional charge so assets are preserved).
- Ability for all media assets created to be directly embedded into courses and available in a course media gallery to prevent students from leaving the LMS during asynchronous class navigation.
- Ability to edit/trim videos on the user end.
- Virtual classrooms must be automatically created per course section and be accessible to instructors and students without the need to schedule them individually (i.e., static meeting rooms).
- Virtual classroom must include the following tools/options: direct chat with instructor; chat with class; whiteboard; playlist; quizzes and polls; room lock; breakout rooms; screen sharing; browser focus that alerts instructor to student attention and participation issues; video sharing; recording; notes.
- Virtual classroom must allow students to switch views as needed to receive information from multiple sources (i.e., a student with a hearing impairment can select a main view of a sign language interpreter or a student can toggle between a view of the instructor and a view of an external whiteboard).
- Virtual classroom must allow instructors to switch between multiple cameras, such as document cameras and tripod cameras, in addition to the device webcam.
- Video storage allowance must be at least 60,000 GB per year.
- Bandwidth must be at least 60,000 GB per year.
- Storage/bandwidth overage charges must not exceed $0.50 per GB.
- Must have a d2l bright space integration for a seamless user experience.
- Service is cloud-based.
- Provide thorough training for our staff to ensure successful adoption and utilization of the systems.
- Comprehensive user manuals and documentation should be provided for both systems and their integration.
