The vendor required to provide subsurface geological maps software for various stakeholders including industry representatives, scientists, policymakers, educators, students, and citizens.
- System requirements:
1. Multiuser environment
• Need to have at least 5 concurrent users
• Need to have multiple users simultaneously work on the same project
• Total of 5 geology licenses and 1 seismic license.
2. Cross sections
• Create cross sections using geophysical logs.
• Must be able to include:
o Scanned geophysical logs in TIF format
o Geophysical logs in las format
• Be able to incorporate both raster and digital logs on the same cross section line
• Drawing options
o Filled formations
o Optional line style symbology
• Tools
o Be able to change from structure to stratigraphic drawing
o Be able to change stratigraphic datums for stratigraphic drawing
o Incorporate computed grids of formation tops in the cross section
o Pick geologic formation tops and automatically populate the information back into the database
o Create unassigned and generic correlations
o Pay interval picking and calculations
o Reference logs (aka slip logs)
3. Mapping
• Base maps
o Import and export Esri shapefiles and Esri file geodatabases
o Consume GIS rest services for base maps
• Contouring and gridding of geological surfaces and thicknesses
o Gridding algorithms
1. Kriging – both universal and ordinary kriging
2. Minimum curvature
3. Inverse distance weighting (IDW)
4. Other types of splines
o Contours should be editable
o Contours and grids should be easily exported in standard GIS formats
• Display and symbolize wells on the map based on database attributes
• Bubble map production
• Create scaled cross sections on the fly from the geological surfaces
• Map deviated and horizontal wells (total vertical depth [TVD])
• Created and display 3-dimensional maps and volumes
4. Analysis
• Plot oil and gas production
• Create decline curves of oil and gas production
• Geophysical log cross plots—logs and zone items
o Pickett cross plots
o Hingle cross plots
o Neutron-density cross plots
o Neutron-sonic cross plots
o Density-sonic lithology cross plots
o matrix identification plot
o Matrix identification plot
o Alpha mapping from the SP log
o Clean sand or carbonate from the gr log
o Rock typing and facies mapping
o Create facies logs from cross plots
• Log calculations—both standard defined equations, such as archie equation and the Vshale equation, along with user defined equations
5. Seismic interpretation (one module)
• Import stacked and migrated seg-y data
• Incorporate seismic line with mapped well locations—possibly change projection.
• Create synthetic seismograms or incorporate synthetic seismograms from external sources
• Time and depth conversions
• Export CDP (values as text
6. database
• Can be a proprietary database solution, but optionally have a SQL-based solution that can connect directly to a MS-SQL server database
• Information to be stored in the database (non-exclusive examples of data stored in the database).
o Well header data
o Geologic formation tops
o Direction drilled survey information
o Core and sample information
o Perforations
o Produced oil, gas, and water volumes
o Injected wastewater volumes
o Zone items
o las logs
o TIF logs
• Database should have the ability to be searchable and selectable
7. Data import and export
• Import and export attribute data in a tabular format, such as csv, excel, MS-access tables
• Import and export map data in GIS formats, such as Esri shape files, Esri file geodatabases, and Esri’s SDE geodatabases.
• Optional interface with Ersi’s ArcGIS pro.
• Import and export projects and data in industry standard formats.
