Health and Safety Software Solution

The Vendor is required to provide a comprehensive solution to the management on safety inspections data, training tracking, chemical inventory, safety datasheet management and associated safety follow-up (reminders, prompts, etc.).
- The need for a system of this nature has increased year over year with more data being recorded, and more reporting being required to both internal (University) groups and external (regulators, licensing bodies, etc.) Similarly, with a small number of personnel, follow-up, and reminders for things like inspection deficiencies, training completions, preventative maintenance requirements, chemical expiry, etc. are impossible for the team to manage manually and many crucial things can slip through the cracks.
- The deployment of a comprehensive Health & Safety software solution that integrates with the University’s existing systems.
- To support reporting on key leading and lagging safety metrics.
- The software solution should allow for single sign-on (SAML).
- Ability to assign tasks to other users, as well as ‘non-users’ (e.g. by sending emails)
- Ability to assign different tasks within the same report to different users, rather than having one person responsible for all tasks in given report.
- Analytics such as total inspections conducted, number of action items assigned, number of action items resolved, trends identified (inspection items that are most frequently found deficient)
- Ability for admin or full-access users to see all action items still outstanding, completed, or overdue
- Ability to add pictures or other documents to the inspection report
- Proponent must have training for the software system available for all users
- Online or app-based functionality, allowing users to complete inspections on laptop, tablet, or smartphone
- Ability to update/edit the due dates for action items
- Ability to review previous inspection reports when re-inspecting an area, to see if items are repeatedly identified
- Ability to spot trends in data
- Ability to integrate with Banner for employee supervisor mapping, training or qualifications, functional area or position changes, roles and responsibilities
