The Vendor is required to provide Industry feedback regarding the modernization of the inmate canteen point of sale (POS) system.
- Objectives:
• To inform industry of this forthcoming requirement;
• To transition from the existing in-house system to a modern Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS)
• To identify solutions and potential approaches to meet agency requirements;
• To seek a cost estimate for the project;
- The objective is to modernize the point-of-sale system for inmate canteens currently in use, by replacing it with a fully integrated, network-connected POS Solution that:
• Integrates RFID-enabled smartcards (desfire ev3) as identification and payment solution;
• Provides interfaces securely and reliably to let agency integration team to bind the solution with via application programming interfaces (APIS);
• Modernizes hardware and software across all institutions;
• Enables national reporting, analytics, inventory management, and transaction traceability;
• Reduces manual workload, ensures data security, and supports offender accountability; and
• Aligns with agency enterprise architecture and government digital standards.
- Provide a modern POS application capable of operating in online and offline modes.
- Offer functionality for:
• Sales processing
• Inventory management and forecasting
• Transaction history and audit trails
• Local and national reporting
• User access management with role-based controls
- Deployment & Support
• Provide deployment strategy for all 93 canteen branches.
• Provide remote support during rollout.
• Ensure remote maintenance, patching, and monitoring capabilities.
