The Vendor is required to provide intake system rehabilitation project includes the detailed engineering, supply, fabrication, installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of the following principal systems and works:
1. Intake gate system
• New motorized intake gate system.
• Positive-drive actuation system, preferably rack-and-pinion.
• Two motors, arranged as duty and standby or equivalent approved redundant arrangement.
• Manual emergency operation capability.
• Local and remote operation capability.
• Hardwired closure command from the generating unit protection relay.
• Gate position indication and operating status feedback.
• Use of existing guides where feasible, subject to verification by the proponent.
• No cable-based or chain-based main lifting and actuation systems permitted.
2. Trash rack system
• Design and installation of two new trash racks:
o One external trash rack on the lake side.
o One internal trash rack within the intake arrangement.
• Trash racks shall be designed for manual cleaning.
• Trash racks shall be HDPE, in accordance with the technical specification document.
• All associated support frames, anchors, seating details, and structural interfaces shall be included.
3. Intake access and safety improvements
• Design and installation of all new handrails around the full intake perimeter.
• Completion and design of two inspection lids arrangements.
• Replacement of the downstream ladder.
• Design of safe vertical access and operator working areas.
• Fall protection interfaces and removable access barrier and chain arrangements as required by the technical specifications.
4. Debris handling and cleaning support elements
• Design and installation of a chute and slide system for controlled transfer of manually removed debris to a safe downstream collection area.
• Associated debris collection and handling arrangements.
5. Structural and civilly-integrated mechanical interfaces
• Prefabricated concrete support block for the external trash rack.
• Seating and support interface between support block and external rack.
• Temporary works methodology for cofferdam and manual mini-dam arrangement.
• Coordination with the client regarding permit management, where applicable.
6. Electrical, control and auxiliary systems
• New outdoor local intake control panel.
• Hardwired local and remote control of the gate.
• Hardwired interface to the generating unit protection relay.
• Gate motor power and protection arrangement.
• Position indication devices, limit switches, alarms, and status signals.
• Two auxiliary panel power connections for maintenance / cleaning / special operations.
• Autonomous solar lighting system with six individual light units.
• Electrical single-line diagram and associated electrical documentation.
7. Testing and commissioning
• Factory testing where applicable.
• Site acceptance testing (sat).
• Functional testing of gate opening and closing, local and remote operation, and protection-trip initiated closure, alarms, and status signals.
• Verification of the installed intake system under actual site conditions.
